Housing emergency -
Italy.

Home is not only cement, sometimes, if necessary, becomes sweat, sharing, even fight.

In Rome, for decades, the housing emergency has reached alarm levels.
Thousands of Italian and foreign families, organized into committees, coordination, "resistance groups", occupy abandoned buildings, former schools, hospitals, homesteads or are forced to build real slums inside the city to avoid the need of houses.

The housing emergency has moved on, from social emergency to real political fight gaining the most radical head of the demonstrations during these last months. Such as, the 19th of October 2013, during the national protest for housing rights, which landed into some crashes or the last eviction of Montagnola with police and carabinieri clashes, until the bloody battle of the 12th of April 2014 in Piazza Barberini.

The faces, the looks framed in moments of joy or despair, people gating away from police attacks, slums hidden among the streets of Rome, these images attempt to capture a range of feelings and emo- tions symbol of the emergency and the need for a place where to live: a house in Italy.
